What these technologies are
Cookies are small values a site asks a browser to keep. Local and session storage serve a similar purpose inside the browser. Some sign-in technologies may also use redirects or device signals to prevent fraud.
Necessary storage
| Purpose | Examples | Choice |
|---|---|---|
| Authentication and session | Clerk session, anti-forgery and account-routing values | Necessary to sign in; blocking them prevents account use |
| Security and delivery | Bot/fraud protection, load delivery and request integrity | Necessary for a safe service |
| Preferences | Language, accessibility, dismissed guidance and local app state | Remembered because requested; may be cleared in browser settings |
| Payments/integrations | Short-lived Stripe or Google connection state when the user opens those services | Used only for the requested transaction or connection |
Analytics and advertising
School accounts do not use third-party advertising cookies. Cloudflare may create aggregated operational and security telemetry without using a marketing cookie. If Ekadem later introduces optional analytics or other non-essential storage that requires consent in the user’s location, it will be off until the user chooses it, and the choice will be as easy to withdraw as to give.
External content
A user-requested integration or embedded resource can be served by another provider and may apply that provider’s storage rules. Ekadem should not load optional third-party media or trackers merely by opening a school page. Links that open another site are governed by that site’s notice.
Manage storage
Use browser settings to inspect or clear cookies and site data. Clearing necessary values signs you out and may reset preferences. Global privacy signals are honored where legally required; because Ekadem does not sell or share data for targeted advertising, such a signal does not change an advertising profile here.
