How the schedule works
A signed school term, lawful school instruction or mandatory recordkeeping rule can set a shorter or longer period. “Deletion” means removal from active databases, object storage, search indexes and ordinary caches, followed by expiry from isolated backups. A legal hold pauses deletion only for the affected record.
Deletion runs automatically through scheduled jobs that run hourly or nightly, so a record can remain for up to a day after its period ends. Backups and infrastructure logs expire on rolling schedules. Records kept for legal reasons are deleted once their legal period ends.

Account deletion and school exit
Personal users can delete their account in the app’s account settings or email privacy@ekadem.com. A school administrator may export and instruct deletion for its workspace. Ekadem verifies authority, records the request, preserves only exceptions required by law or security, and can provide a deletion confirmation. Deleting one account does not erase a record the school is legally required to keep.
