1. Plans and price
Current monthly list prices are US $7 for Plus and US $13 for Teacher, plus tax where applicable. The checkout screen is authoritative for the price, currency, billing period, promotion, tax and start date offered to you. School pricing uses an Order Form. AI top-ups are separate one-time purchases and do not renew. Purchased AI credit is added to the billing period in which you buy it and expires when that period ends; unused credit does not carry over. This is stated again at checkout.
Plan features and technical allowances are shown before purchase and in Plan & limits. Usage allowances reset on the period shown in the account; unused AI allowances normally do not roll over unless the offer says they do.
2. What must be shown before payment
Before we request payment details, checkout must clearly show the service, total recurring price, billing frequency, minimum duration if any, automatic-renewal terms, cancellation method, and the operator’s identity and contact details. The purchase button must make the payment obligation unambiguous. We send or make available a durable confirmation after purchase.
For a change that will increase an existing subscription, we require an affirmative action tied to the exact future price and date. A preselected box, silence or a link to general terms is not enough where law requires express consent.
3. Automatic renewal and price changes
Monthly subscriptions renew each month until canceled. Stripe charges the saved method at the start of each new period. Taxes may change with law or location. We give clear advance notice before a Ekadem price increase; it applies to a future renewal, not retroactively. Where local law requires renewed consent, we will ask for it.
4. The free plan
The free plan includes a small one-time AI allowance, limited storage and a small number of free generations (such as one course, one mind map and one mock exam), which are counted separately from the AI allowance. No card or payment decision is required, and the free plan never turns into a paid subscription on its own.
Teaching on the free plan
An account that teaches may run one class for free, for as long as the account exists, with more storage than a personal free account. Its AI allowance covers your own AI use and the AI your students use in your class, its lessons and activities, and your live lesson sessions. It is granted for your first month of teaching; when that month ends, one further allowance of the same size is granted, and that one does not renew.
When an AI allowance is used up, AI features pause until a further allowance is granted or until you choose a paid plan. Your class, its content and your students’ work keep working in the meantime.
More than one class
Creating a second class requires the Teacher plan. If a paid plan ends while you have more classes than the free plan includes, nothing is deleted: your oldest class stays fully usable, and the others remain visible to you and your students but become read-only until you choose a paid plan again or archive them.
5. How to cancel
Open Plan & limits → Manage subscription to enter the Stripe customer portal and cancel. You may also email hello@ekadem.com from the account email if the portal does not work. Cancellation normally stops renewal and takes effect at the end of the paid period shown in the portal. You retain paid access until then.
Cancellation does not automatically delete your account or content. Use account deletion or email privacy@ekadem.com for that. We provide a confirmation of cancellation.
6. Refunds
Payments are non-refundable after the service period begins except where this notice, the checkout offer or mandatory law gives a refund or remedy. We provide refunds for duplicate or unauthorized charges after verification, and legally required remedies where a digital service is not supplied or does not conform. Canceling stops future renewals; it does not normally refund the current partly used period.
Nothing here limits chargeback rights, statutory warranties, cooling-off rights or other non-waivable consumer protections.
7. EU/EEA consumer withdrawal
If you are an EU/EEA consumer buying online, you normally have 14 days from contract conclusion to withdraw without giving a reason. Send a clear statement to hello@ekadem.com or use the model form below before the period ends.
If you expressly ask us to begin a paid service during the withdrawal period and then withdraw, the law may allow us to retain a proportionate amount for service supplied before withdrawal. The right is not lost merely because you sign in or accept general terms. If the service has been fully performed, early expiry requires the legally specified express request and acknowledgement. We return amounts due using the original payment method within the statutory period.
Switzerland does not provide the same general statutory 14-day right for ordinary online services. Any voluntary Swiss cancellation or refund right must be stated in the checkout offer; mandatory rights remain unaffected.
8. Model withdrawal form
Complete and send this only if you wish to withdraw:
To: hello@ekadem.com
I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the following Ekadem subscription: ______
Ordered on: ______
Consumer name: ______
Consumer address: ______
Account email: ______
Date: ______
Signature (only if submitted on paper): ______
9. Failed payments and billing support
If a charge fails, we may retry through Stripe and temporarily limit paid features. A lapsed Teacher workspace may become read-only; we do not immediately erase class content. Contact hello@ekadem.com about an incorrect charge. Do not send full card details by email.
